My dad had a bone treatment today. They used the port that was surgically implanted last Friday. Its the same office that he has his chemo at. His 3rd treatment is scheduled for this Wednesday. The nurses are very nice and his oncologist is a superstar from Harvard.
I made a bunch of calls that had to be made. The truck needs an oil change and tire rotation and I want it thoroughly checked out. I put on 12,000 miles already (since the summer) and hauled across the country since the last check-up… I made an appointment to go to Fidelity with my dad and make my first IRA dispursement to pay him back for all he did for me this past year: the truck, the trailer, 2 debts I incurred from the marriage somehow, hay, my lawyer’s retainer, and a bunch of stuff… I left a message with my lawyer who will probably never call me back…I arranged to get Brad’s meds to him in Spain…I tried to book a campsite at Mayo for the Best of America by Horseback ride I am signed up for. They only have primitive sites available, crap, she’s calling me back tomorrow about what exactly that means. They have no stalls but I can use my electric coral.
Since my dad was busy I then rode Dreamy on the same trail Marion showed me the other day. About 8 miles. I love the long canal stretch, you can trot for 5 miles straight. We loped some and a bit of gallop. Her endurance has improved a lot. But going home she seemed a little lame on the right front (this is not her crooked leg so something must of happened in her paddock?). Wildflower has a swollen left hind. The other day it had a few small cuts on it which I washed with betadine and put fureson on. It must of been a bigger injury than I realized. Marion found a couple of more broken stall wall boards. One stall has been built with pretty thin boards. I told her I would prefer the stall with no boards at all. She was talking about replacing them with heavier ones but actually it would be better with no walls. Fewer places for the bully to pin Dreamy in a corner and kick her…
So I gave them both bute and went back to dad’s for dinner, watched 2 episodes of Modern Family, took a hot bath, had ice cream…ahhhh the conveniences of living in a house are so nice right now.
